Why Work life Balance is Continually Elusive for the Majority

Church PresentationIt had never been clear to me, why work life balance is such a big issue in many breakfast and dinner forums. In addition, it’s a popular topic of discussion in organizational motivational seminars. Nevertheless, upon interacting with the leadership and membership of numerous churches in the recent past, I can now reveal some lessons that I have continually learnt. But first, I was invited to either present one hour long talks or introduce Career Dynamics in the 21st Century in at least 12 mainstream churches, between June and December last year. They included;-
• Catholic Church x 1
• Anglican Church x3
• PCEA Church x 7
• PEFA Church x 1
• Methodist Church x1
In 2016, I have already been scheduled to speak in 8 Churches so far, only during the 1st Quarter. They include:-
• Catholic x 1
• Anglican x2
• PCEA x 3
• CITAM x 1
Schools have also not been left behind, as was the case last year. One hour long talks have already been scheduled in at least 3 schools, only in the month of February. (Obviously, these talks do not affect the training programs for client organizations). During the sessions that have already taken place, there have been numerous questions raised not only by the participants, but also the leadership.

One of them from the participants is why the church leadership has been attracted to “Career Dynamics in the 21st Century,” yet it’s not a religious book. I am sure many readers who may not have accessed the book, could be asking themselves the same question. The good news is that the truth can now be revealed.

Chapter 8 is very elaborate on the concept of success in our lives. Needless to venture into the intricate details, we need to realize that our body mechanism is driven by 4 intelligences. The same include the mental, emotional, physical and finally the spiritual aspects. Any shortcomings in any one of the intelligences affects all the others, just like when one of the tyres of a car gets punctured or deflated.

The greatest challenge in life is maintaining balance of the 4 intelligences. Many churches are pre-occupied in largely addressing the spiritual aspect, sometimes in disregard of the other three, thus leaving some unattended aspects. Could that be the reason why work life balance seminars are so common, especially in the corporate sector?

Even as we consider this question, we may perhaps need to appreciate one simple reality that affects our lives, one way or the other. People who are not aligned to their natural orientations could be going through up-hill tasks, in their studies and more particularly at work. Stress under such situations becomes highly prevalent. Naturally, successful performance becomes affected. Those affected react variously. Some experience high levels of stress which could occasionally lead to illnesses and other undesirable effects.

Conversely, those aligned to their natural orientations could most likely be quite passionate about their pre-occupations. The majority are constantly enjoying infinite job satisfaction and therefore always having fun while working. They could work for long hours, whereas excelling at the same time. That includes attracting generous rewards for their efforts. We therefore need to consider the extent to which we are each aligned to our natural orientations, if the desired success in our lives is likely to be consistently achieved.

Meantime, one of the scheduled programs happened today (Sunday), just before this dispatch. Yours truly was the guest speaker in both the early morning service and main service at ACK St. Paul’s Parish, Nairobi South C. The congregation was fully engaged, especially during the one hour presentation on unleashing the human performance potential.

Later, many members acquired their copy of Career Dynamics in the 21st Century, which elaborates the process in more details. It was particularly exciting, meeting two congregants who worship elsewhere, and had read the book, but still felt the need to listen to the author upon learning of his presence in their neighborhood. Imagine you were the author; how would it have felt?

Meanwhile,

  • At what stage of the performance cycle is your business organization operating?
  • If you wanted to holistically and strategically transform the fortunes of your organization, where would you start?
  • Did you ever know that we can help your organization to completely transform direction for the better in only 2 – 3 days?
  • Did you also know that we extend PERSONALIZED and MONEY BACK GUARANTEES on the respective solutions?
  • How about starting with a non committal, one on one discussion on how the transformation can be achieved?

We are only a phone call or email away

Welcome !!!
